In preparation for its 60th anniversary edition in 2027, the Prague Quadrennial will host an international in-person symposium titled Performing Exhibitions, Curating Scenographies.
Focusing on the rich interconnections between contemporary scenographic practices, curating, and exhibition-making, the symposium will bring together over 60 speakers from around the world. The programme will explore topics such as silence as a curatorial condition, working with “living” archives, and new approaches to exhibiting scenographic heritage and national representation in the context of the Prague Quadrennial.
Additional themes include the use of digital technologies, multisensory and embodied exhibition practices, and perspectives that move beyond the human.
I am honoured to contribute to the symposium by presenting my research and practical experience in exhibition-making in a talk titled:Hand as Eye: Touch as a Haptic Strategy in Scene-Exhibition Practices.
